In early 1990s predecessors of Jegs understood that more than 1.3 billion populous country (India) needs desperately modern health care facilities where people of remote & sub-urban can at least able the meet the doctors of all kind along with the then cutting-edge diagnosis facilities so that people (patient) can choose the right path prior to medical tourism &hospitalizations.
With this thoughts DJ the predecessors of Jegs started building up the doctors’ network and invested time to setup the ultra-modern healthcare facilities in the bank of river Rupnarayan.
In 1993, 25th August the then West Bengal health minister Proshanto Sur, along with one of the most renowned & populist state minister Mrs Chaya Bera & the Vice Chancellors of Calcutta University Bhaskar Roy Chowdhury had inaugurated the first cutting edge & ultramodern healthcare facilities (360* complete diagnostic centre) in the Kolaghat at undividedMidnapore district with more than 5000+ Sq. Ft. carpet area along with top notch doctors & medical professionals named Riverview Diagnostic & Research Centre.
All,the then cutting-edge equipments had been imported from the foreign soils from company like Siemens, Philips, Bayers amongst many others by investing more the 5 million INR without taking any loans from banks and investors at that point of time when India was borrowing money from internationalmonetary funds.
To place the right man behind the machine continuously were one of the biggest challenges for the RDRC managements but with ease RDRC’s management was able to handle this kind of operational challenges to serve the people of India.
The foot-falls of patients were so high that the RoI was broke even within few months and forced RDRC management extend their wings in Tamluk, Midnapore Town, Ghantal even at state of Odisha.
The service of RDRC was appreciated across at all levels from people to doctors fraternity to state establishments among other ancillaries’ bodies of health care fraternity.
Commercially also it was so successful that predecessors of Jegs was decided add one more flower in the bouquetto grow ……. The Journey continues…………
