“Woodcutter & Axe” | “কাঠুরি আর কুঠার” These were the very effective words for early human civilization for their livelihood and the predecessors (Jana’s) of JEGS (Jana Enterprises Global Solutions) probably continues with one of the first human trade legacies of this culture in the bank of river Budhabalanga at Mayurbhanj District in Baripada & Simlipal jungle in early 1960 for legitimate teak plantation after the just India’s independence era.
And Jana’s had been chosen very tactfully to showcase their products (Teak Wood) for trade in the then biggest trade capital of India & largest market of eastern region “Kolkata” & strategically chosen Kolaghat “কাঠ, কয়লা আর পাট । এই নিয়ে কোলাঘাট ।” just 50 Kms (2 hrs) away from Kolkata for its super connectivity, connected with Railways, River & National Highways – 6 by its logistic & supply chain support.
Jana’s had taken lease the loads of warehouses from Indian Railways in just beside the pier of Rupnarayan River and setup a sawmill in 1960s to process the teak from Baripada by highways/railways and after dressing it can be supplied to Kolkata by highways & boats by river for its fastest supply chain eco system. Thus, the trade house “Das & Jana Timber Merchant” grows for 3 decades until 1990 when Plywood came & hit directly this timber merchant fraternity. But still one of the successors of Jana’s still continuing the plywood business in Kolaghat.
