Allied Construction (Mechanical & Electrical) KTPP

In mid 80s the predecessors (Jana’s) of JEGS successfully earned the necessary business acumens & capabilities with working credentials to form a new (Electrical & Mechanical) construction company called Allied Construction & Industries with collaboration of IIT, (Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur) to have them as a principal consultant for participating in any forthcoming turnkey-based project like Kolaghat Thermal Power Project (210 MW x 3 Units).

Global construction companies’ giants like Stewarts & Lloyds, Larsen & Toubro, BHEL amongst many others were given toughest challenges to win the bid from KTPP as far as turnkey based mechanical & electrical design is concern.  However, IIT, Kharagpur & its top-notch team has given the utmost efforts to prepare a complex design to integrate & amalgamate rail wagon tippler with coal conveyor belt to thermal power’s main turbine. Many the then cutting-edge complex designs (million-volt power station for electrical distribution), had help Allied Construction & Industries to win the global tender in that period for their quantum jump and make history in its construction’s journey.

More than hundreds of (mechanical & electrical passed out engineers from IIT, Kharagpur, thousands and thousands of skilled workers played very significant role to complete the turnkey-based projects in their given stipulated times).

Thus, predecessors of JEGS earned accolades, name & fame in the energy-based plant fraternities.

But in pragmatic corporate world there is always evil spirit like reels, almost with the end of the projects (99.99% compilation) after hard working 7/8 years the project was terminated by the authorities in the lieu of indirect pressure from local political goons supported by the then communist regime. Which leads the management of Allied Construction & Industries crippled financially but never die attitudeshelped the predecessor of JEGS to win & fight the arbitration in the court of law after 5 to 6 years with huge financial compensation (Crores & Crores) of INR in early 1990s. But the pain of the process discourages to write history to moving forward in this field.
